Understanding Mathematics

I've always been curious about how mathematics influences gameplay. In some games, everything seems so simple: you select a parameter, press a button, and get a result. But behind this, apparently, lies probability, a multiplier, and the house edge. I'm not very familiar with probability theory, so I'd like to find the simplest explanation possible. Which metrics should I study first? And does changing the probability of an outcome automatically change long-term mathematical expectations?

It's useful to understand the mathematics of crypto games at least at a basic level. One key metric is the house edge, or the house edge. In Bitcoin Dice, for example, the reference mechanics described on the website state a 1% house edge, and this edge remains the same regardless of probability settings; it's mainly the variance of the outcome that changes. Therefore, choosing a higher probability doesn't mean the mathematical edge disappears. It's just that the potential multiplier becomes smaller, and the results usually fluctuate differently. With low probability, the possible multiplier is higher, but it's harder to achieve that outcome. This is why various "systems" for adjusting round sizes are unable to mathematically eliminate the site's advantage. To understand the game, it's enough to first understand three things: probability, potential multiplier, and house edge. After that, many marketing hypes and complex strategies become much easier to evaluate. This approach is useful not only for crypto games, but for any format where the outcome depends on probability.
